OBLIOX is the pseudonym of multi-disciplinary creative Jordan T Gray, who works primarily within illustration. Working with a wide range of mediums such as drawing, collage, printmaking, model making and digital illustration, Jordan has also translated his illustrations into animations, film and immersive sets.
Holding an admiration for absurdity and surrealism, his work often utilises narrative and character design, taking inspiration from illustrated children's literature and comics, folk art, science fiction and medieval imagery. His recent personal work explores futuristic worlds in which his characters and creatures co-exist, with ideas and themes exploring humanity’s mortality and search for meaning in the face of technological advancement and looming crisis.
Jordan has also worked extensively with clients based in the music industry and has amassed a portfolio of album covers, posters, merchandise and even directed two music videos and organised visuals and installations for immersive club nights. His work has become synonymous with the music scene in Margate and he has contributed much of his time to local musicians, DJs and grassroots venues over his career.
He graduated from Middlesex University in 2014 with a BA(Hons) in Illustration and has been working freelance from his studio at Resort Studios, Margate ever since.
